Björn Gelotte ‘Jotun’ Les Paul Custom Outfit

Björn Gelotte of Swedish metal titans In Flames has long been a Les Paul Custom player. Now he’s teamed up with Epiphone for a killer signature instrument designed with relentless riffage in mind!

Boasting double active EMG pickups disguised with gold covers, this instrument has a classic look but with a punchy contemporary sound. The mahogany body and neck combination ensure that you’ll have all of the low-end-friendly range that you desire!

The rounded ’59 neck profile gives you the timeless playability of a vintage Les Paul, but with the endless sustain and crystal clear resonance of a hot-rodded monster!

Epiphone have even adorned this model with lush gold hardware and the In Flames ‘Jester’ logo on the headstock – a little touch that adds to the unique character of this guitar! Top it off with a bottle opener built in to the back, and you’ve got a metal-ready machine that might just go undetected at a classic rock gig!

Matt Heafy ‘Snøfall’ Les Paul Custom Outfit, 6 & 7 string

Heafy’s air-tight riffage and melodic lead playing helped propel Trivium to metal stardom. Partially inspired by the pure white imagery and crystalline sound of their latest album, Heafy’s Snøfall guitars are clean-cut and precise both in sound and appearance. The aim of the game here is endless speed, unparalled clarity and lethal tone.

For both the body and the neck, Epiphone have used mahogany – this familiar combination ensures you’ll have plenty of sustain and weighty tone, perfect for full sound regardless of style. You’ll also notice a ’60s style slim-taper D-profile on the neck, ideal for easy movement across the guitar’s range.

One of the most unique and instantly striking features of this guitar is the white phenolic fretboard. This impervious resin is designed to be unmatched in smoothness and incredibly durable.

Pickup-wise, Heafy has chosen the classic EMG 81 in the bridge and 85 in the neck. You may be familiar with this pairing, as it’s been an iconic staple in hard-rock and metal guitars for decades. This formidable active combination will give you a tight, resonant sound that responds excellently to high gain and complex compositions. The 7-string version boasts 81-7 & 707 pickups in the neck and bridge respectively.

Tommy Thayer ‘White Lightning’ Explorer Custom Outfit

The White Lightning Explorer boasts similar materials to Thayer’s Les Paul model, including a mahogany double-whammy for the body and the neck. This, along with a lush rosewood fingerboard, ensures soaring sustain. The slim-taper D-profile neck arrangement gives you playability, perfect for your slick riffing and spacious leads alike.

Loaded with a duo of legendary Seymour Duncan JB humbuckers, this instrument is designed to pack a sonic punch. The neck position is left uncovered to provide the ideal amount of gritty attitude, whereas the neck position pickup is chrome covered. This allows you to attain a unique, full-bodied resonance with bundles of rock’n’roll sheen.

The custom metallic white finish will have you turning heads effortlessly, and the Chrome-finished PVC pickguard just oozes glam-rock attitude. 7-ply binding and gleaming nickel hardware complete the picture – and the picture is gloriously decadent!

Epiphone PRO-1 Series

The Pro-1 Series is a new line of Epiphone acoustics specifically made for entry-level players. Making it easier than before to pick up a guitar and learn how to play. The Pro-1 range guitars all have a vintage-style headstock giving them that classic look and they’re all available in 5 cool finishes:

  • Ebony
  • Wine Red
  • Vintage Sunburst
  • Natural
  • Translucent Blue

There are a couple of features on these guitars that make them so much easier to play like the ‘Ultra’ neck shape which fits in the hand comfortably, even if you have slightly smaller hands.

The frets are also taller and wider meaning it takes less effort to get the notes to sound. It’s also got a slightly shorter scale length which means the strings feel slightly ‘looser’ (especially with the super light gauge strings that come with the guitar).

So you get a full-bodied sound from a slightly smaller guitar with super light strings. This is probably one of the easiest acoustic guitars to play on the market today. It’s also worth mentioning the PRO-1 series has 3 different guitars at 3 different price points: the Pro-1, the Pro-1 Plus and the Pro-1 Ultra.
