Orange OR60 valve amp head
It’s always a treat swinging by the Orange Amps booth at NAMM. And let’s be honest, it’s impossible to miss. Just follow the wall of bright, citrus‑toned cabs glowing across the show floor — no exhibition map required.
Captain Lee caught up with Orange’s legendary designer Ade Emsley to hear the brand‑new OR60 in action and dig into the ideas behind it. Think of it as the OR30’s beefier big brother: same front end, same circuitry, same bright switch — just way more oomph.
This is pure, unapologetic rock ’n’ roll. The OR60’s a single‑channel valve bruiser powered by a pair of 6L6s, with a footswitchable second volume control for added flexibility. You also get presence and resonance controls, a valve‑buffered FX loop, plus a negative feedback loop to keep things tight when the gain starts to bite.
