Guitar News & Releases

Fender Hits Hard

Fender has shown that when it comes to NAMM, they are all or nothing! After being absent from the last NAMM show Fender has decided to go all out this year with new Acoustasonic guitars, new colours and limited editions on existing lines such as Player II and American Vintage II, as well as the introduction of a whole new series: the Fender Standard Series.

  • Fender Standard Series – Elegantly crafted in Indonesia, the Fender Standard Series offers a genuine Fender electric guitar or bass with a price tag to suit players of all abilities. Featuring genuine Fender pickups and hardware and made with Poplar bodies and Maple necks with options for both Maple and Laurel fingerboards the Fender Standard Series captures the vibe, tone, playability and quality found across the whole of the Fender range. These versatile workhorses are built to inspire and thanks to their Modern-C-shaped necks with 9.5” radius they are a joy to play up and down the whole fingerboard. With a number of classic finish options available the Fender Standard Series is the perfect choice for those after an entry-level instrument that will truly see them through or those perhaps with a lower-quality beginner’s instrument who is looking to take things to the next level. Marshall are back at NAMM after 5 years and they have returned with a vengeance!

For weeks Marshall have been using their socials to tease something big and oh, have they delivered! After much speculation the green light has been lit and Marshall have launched their exciting new range of compact pedals, modified amps as well as finally offering the JCM 900 as as a 20 watt Studio edition! With each offering a flavour of Marshall to suit just about every type of guitarist these lines are definitely ones you don’t want to miss!

  • Marshall Compact Pedals – Marshalls latest line of compact guitar pedals takes things back to what Marshall knows best – delivering incredible guitar amp tones! With so many big pedal brands typically offering at least one Marshall in a box style pedal it pleases us all to see Marshall taking ownership of what we’ve all been begin for and offering 5 stompboxes, each offering its own distinct Marshall voice from classic Plexi drive to screaming hot JVM distortion. Click here to view the new Marshall pedal range!
  • Marshall Modified – Its no trade secret that some of the most regarded Marshall tones from the last 50 or so years have in fact been from modified units, many of the modifications actually being done by Marshall themselves. Its also no secret that over the years there has been a number of ’boutique’ brands that have built whole businesses based off these converted modifications and circuit tweeks. For years pretty much every Marshall fan has been pleading with Marshall to fight fire with fire and launch their own range of vintage inspired modified amp and finally they have listened! Handwired in England, the Marshall Modified 1959MS JMP and Marshall Modified 2203MS JCM 800 takes these classic circuits to the next level each offering a series of clever switches and overdrive circuits that just makes these amp sing! They have to be heard to be believed so check out the video below with Lee and official Marshall demonstrator Steve Smith for an in depth deep dive into the range.
  • JCM 900 Studio – The converted JCM 900 has finally been given the Marshall Studio treatment being offered in both a 20 watt head and combo variant. Originally released in 1990 and used and made famous by just about every big group of the era from Oasis to Blink 182 to Foo Fighters. Its a staple to the Marshall family and the new JCM 900 Studio encapsulates the classic tone in a studio/home friendly package.

Synth & Keys Releases

Behringer tease some prototypes

The synth wizards at Behringer have always got some stuff cooking, from the much-anticipated to the cult-classics reimagined. NAMM 2025 is no different, with plenty of stuff on display that’s still in the works – what can you pick out from their yet-to-be-announced synth projects…? See below:

Behringer prototype synths at NAMM 2025 - Andertons Music Co.

(above) Half a decade ago Behringer showed off repairing Tears For Fears original Yamaha DX-1. Synthusiasts know all too well the DX7, being crazy powerful for the time, but also requiring an entire degree to programme. The Original DX-1 was two DX7’s strapped together with extra bells and whistles; it was King of digital synths in the day. Behringer have brought life to their homage of the DX-1 the BX1 but they’ve also added an effects section + a CS-80 inspired analogue multimode filter of all things.

(above) Behringer brought out their JT-16 to their stall at NAMM 2025. Behringer have been long requested to give homage to the Roland Jupiter-8 which has become much of a holy grail for synthusiasts which have reached mortgage levels of cost, and that’s even if you can find a working one. The JT-16 looks set to bridge that gap and improved upon, the name “16” suggests that this will be a 16 voice analogue poly rather than the original 8 voices of the Jupiter-8.
