Guitar News & Releases

Peavey finally release a Josh Homme combo!

It’s been years since QOTSA’s Josh Homme sent shockwaves through the guitar community with the revelation that a Peavey solid-stage Decade combo was his secret tonal weapon. After years of inflated used prices and ‘rare gem’ status, Homme has teamed up with Peavey to unleash a proper reissue. And it IS proper – a 10W combo voiced by Homme himself, pumping out that authentic, tinny, in-your-face sound. Crank those mids, inject some built-in saturation, and flip the speaker phase for sketchy inverted sounds with this unexpected (yet most welcome) NAMM 2025 release.

HILS go fanned-fret!

HILS has done it again, and we’re all for it. Their new HZ7, fresh off the NAMM 2025 stage, is a headless beast that screams innovation. With its razor-sharp body shape, 7-string setup, and fanned-fret design, this guitar feels like it was built for modern players who want comfort, precision, and something that stands out.

Playing it? Unreal. The fanned frets make everything just flow, whether you’re chugging those low strings or ripping solos up high. And the sound? Massive. HILS packed this thing with custom-voiced pickups that give you tight, aggressive lows and crystal-clear highs—perfect for cutting through the mix, no matter the genre.

It’s a guitar that looks killer, plays even better, and sounds like a dream. HILS is expanding their lineup in all the right ways, and the HZ7 is proof they’re not slowing down. If you’re after a headless design that’s as sharp as it is versatile, the HZ7 might just be your next obsession.

Take my money.

Digitech MonoNeon Whammy & HammerOn

Digital FX pioneers Digitech have made waves with fresh updates to two of their most iconic product lines, introducing features that push the boundaries of creativity and innovation. First up, they’ve joined forces with the ever-experimental bassist MonoNeon to deliver a signature Whammy pedal that promises to blow minds. This powerhouse pedal features an unprecedented hypersonic 3-octave range, perfect for adventurous players who love to explore the extremes of pitch-shifting and dive-bombing chaos. It’s a bold step forward for an already legendary pedal.

Next, there’s the HammerOn, an exciting addition that lives up to its name and more. This pedal isn’t just about nailing hammer-on techniques—it’s packed with Digitech’s signature pitch-shifting wizardry, opening up a world of melodic possibilities. Whether you’re looking to add effortless legato-style flourishes or dive into experimental soundscapes, the HammerOn is designed to inspire musicians to think outside the box.

With these two releases, Digitech once again cements its reputation as a trailblazer in the world of effects pedals, giving players the tools to push their sonic boundaries and redefine their sound.

Pro Audio News and Releases

Stylophone Gen-X2 Sneak Peek

Dubreq has dropped the Stylophone GEN X-2 at NAMM 2025, and it’s packed with upgrades. The GEN X-1 (2017) was already a hit, offering a monophonic analogue synth with a filter, LFO, envelope, and a crunchy delay—plus the cool ability to process external audio.

The GEN X-2 keeps all that but steps it up. The touch strip is back, now letting you control pitch, filter cutoff, or LFO intensity for more expressive playing.

It’s the same quirky Stylophone vibe but way more versatile. Perfect for modular fans and anyone wanting playful, hands-on creativity, a cool addition after the release of their DS-2 Drone Synth!

We’re looking forward to this hitting our shelves!

Kurzweil unveil the K2 range!

Kurzweil has officially unveiled the K2061 and K2088, modern successors to the iconic 90s K2000. These synth workstations pack serious upgrades, including an enhanced V.A.S.T engine with 32 layers per program, 256 voices of polyphony, and 16-part multitimbrality.

New tech like FlashPlay ensures lightning-fast loading, while onboard engines include FM with DX-7 patch compatibility, virtual analogue, and KB-3 organ emulation. Add in 32 effects, 2000 factory sounds, and 2GB for custom samples, and you’ve got a powerhouse.

The K2061 features 61 semi-weighted keys, while the K2088 offers 88 fully weighted keys. Both boast tons of controls, plus extensive connectivity.

Kurzweil fans, this is big! More info coming soon!
